Who We Are

Our church is a non-denominational group of believers that seeks to be Gospel-centered in all that we do.  We believe that the Bible is the sole authority for life and that the church is a world-wide community in Christ, not limited to any one church building. Our congregation is Elder-led, Staff directed, and Volunteer driven.  We strive to be culturally relevant, but at all times doctrinally pure. We understand that all of us have fallen short of God's glory and are dependent on God's grace through Christ.  Therefore we love and forgive others as we ourselves have been forgiven.  We emphasize and value relationships over legalistic religion.

Mission Statement

We exist to develop disciples and to bring glory to the name of Jesus Christ.

History

East River Park originally started as a church plant of First Christian Church of Elizabethton.  They began meeting together in 1968 in a little gas station.  The church building was constructed at its current location in 1969 and an "education wing" was added in 1978.  The church is located on 12 acres with the scenic Watauga River at the end of the property.
